At Starshine, pricing is based on a few straightforward factors — the size of your quilt, the design density you choose, and any add-ons you'd like. Your personalized estimate is generated when you submit your quilt request, so you'll always know what to expect before we begin.
Edge-to-Edge Quilting
Our core service is edge-to-edge longarm quilting — a single pantograph design quilted consistently across your entire quilt from edge to edge.
The three density tiers offered:
Shimmer ✦ — Light and airy texture. A softer stitch presence that lets your piecing and fabrics take center stage. A beautiful choice when you want the design to whisper rather than shout.
Sparkle ✦✦ — Balanced texture. A medium density that adds dimension and definition without overwhelming the quilt top. Our most popular choice for everyday quilts and gifts.
Glow ✦✦✦ — Dense texture. A denser stitch pattern that creates rich visual texture and exceptional durability. Ideal for wholecloth looks, modern designs, or quilts that need to stand up to heavy use.
Pricing is calculated per square inch based on your quilt's dimensions and your chosen density tier.
Each design in our gallery shows pricing at the designer's recommended (default) density — the density that best showcases that particular pattern. You're welcome to request a different density, which may adjust the final price accordingly.

We stock premium Quilters Dream batting and are happy to special-order additional options from the Quilters Dream line.

Backing Seaming
Don't have a wide enough backing? We'll seam it for you.
Standard seaming (no pat tern matching): $10 per seam
Pattern-matched seaming: $20 per seam
Note: Number of seams depends on backing width & quilt size. We always use the min. number of seams required.
Masking
Protect appliqué, embroidery, or other elements you'd like not to be quilted.
$6 per masked area
Quilt Label
A personalized cotton fabric label, with up to four lines of custom text.
$15 flat fee
PANTOGRAPH Design Preview
See your chosen design overlaid on an image of your quilt before we begin — so you can quilt with confidence.
Single design preview: $5
3-design preview package: $12
Additional previews beyond the first four: $7 each
Complimentary single-design preview included for first-time customers and orders of $150 or more.
Shipping & Return
For mail-in customers, your quilt will be returned via USPS Priority Mail Flat Rate. Return shipping is billed at actual cost and added to your final invoice.

Insurance is included up to $100 at no charge. Additional coverage is available for quilts of higher value:
If your quilt has significant monetary or sentimental value, we strongly recommend additional insurance. Just let us know when you submit your request.
We'll provide tracking information as soon as your quilt ships, so you always know where it is.

Rush surcharges vary by density tier, with a minimum fee of $40. Availability is limited and not guaranteed — but if our current queue allows it, we'll always do our best to get your quilt back to you on time without cutting corners on quality.

A Note on Estimates
Given quilt dimensions and the design/density of your choice, your personalized quilting estimate is generated automatically when you complete the intake form. The estimate reflects just the quilting service itself; batting and other add-ons, rush fees, and return shipping are confirmed after you submit your intake form.
